Although I like Steve Martin, this is one of those movies that should have never been made. It made me cringe watching Steve Martin try to match Peter Seller's comedic talent.

Ummm, funny moments? How Steve Martin thought he could follow Peter Sellers in this role is beyond me. I watch this movie, at times, just to see if I crack a smile or maybe giggle at a scene, nope never even come close how they thought this movie needed a sequel is ludicrous. It's an embarrassment in every way, I don't know how I could go to the premier if I was Steve Martin or any of the other actors that were part of this movie.

I never saw this movie, and after watching this, I remember why. 🤦♂ I encourage those who haven't seen them to watch the originals. Peter Sellers was the better Clouseau, but it's not just that, it's the timing and delivery of the comedy. Films from the early 2000's on up, most of the comedy just feels like they're trying too hard to be funny. The original films, a lot of the comedy has a somewhat improvisational tone that doesn't feel quite as rehearsed, it felt more natural. And Steve Martin's 'comedy' in general has always been sorta cringe imo.
Steve Martin has always been a class act but this movie really showcased his comedic abilities, i forgot how funny this movie was. especially all the adult jokes i didnt pick up on as a kid. This was in my top 5 favorite movies as a kid, seeing it again as an adult it remains in my top 5
The picture would have been much better served had Kline played the role of Clouceau , much better I say, it was badly miscast Ego involved I guess
