I always just use an ATM to take out Thai baht. In the US at least you can find banks that don’t charge foreign transaction fees and refund ATM fees from other banks. The rates you get in my experience are very close to the mid-market price (way better than any money exchanger I’ve seen).
Otherwise I would use TransferWise. I believe you get the mid-market rate plus a small fee (depends on how much you exchange – the more you exchange the lower the percentage fee). You do need a Thai bank account, though (or know someone you trust that has one).

I exchange for about $200 USD for taxi' s and whatnot at the airport but when I need more I go to the jewelry store. They have better rates but the thing that sucks about the jewelry store is that they take crisp new $100 USD.. other banks take other denominations of currency but this based in my experiences while traveling in Thai and always bring ur passport when exchange ur currency 😁

thanks very informative. you should only change what you have to at the airport then when you get to where your going shop for best rate. actually i always take back with me home extra bhat so when i return i dont have to change money at the airport. bangkok has the best rates in thailand. i also find there are areas of bangkok where the are iranians and pakastani exchangers where there might be 5 or 6 in a small area and they are very competitive.
gday mate so the super rich at the airport isnt that good ? i have quite a substantial ammount to change are there any limitations on how much you can change at any one time and this one you have shown is central world bangkok ? As of now the trade rate is 25.75000 per doller it fluctuates a fair bit yesterday it was over 26 i want to change some at the airport as i dont want the crappy rate scb and korikan are offering which is like 25.1 or something i check them every day hoping it will go back up by the time i get there .great advice take care
Thanks mate, much appreciate it showing where to go and find Superrich in Bangkok to get the best money exchange rate for our Australian dollar and how it is better to get a better rate rather than from the Superrich at the Airport .
Personally, I've always gone to the green SuperRich. The rates for the Aussie dollar always seem to be slightly better. Please keep in mind, you can be waiting in line for up to 30 minutes before you get served. That has to tell you something!!!
